I stumbled upon The Upper Deck Sports Bar while it was still under renovation, and I can't wait for it to open with its promising outdoor deck overlooking Sukumvit Road, making it a fantastic spot for expats like me to watch sports and unwind.
Every evening here is different and special. We loved it so much that we returned three nights in a row. While the beer prices can be high, they are justified by the incredible live music performances. The jazz and blues vibes create an unforgettable experience that my husband and I can't wait to enjoy again.
My 5 favorite live music bars in Bangkok: Of all the bars on the list, this is probably the smallest but also the most authentic live music bar in Bangkok for me. Despite the proximity, just a 10-minute walk from the tourist party mile Khao San Road, I like the chilled, alternative atmosphere here as well as the music. The owners are well-known in the art scene and have created a little gem here. Address: 13 SamSen Rd, Phra Nakhon.
The Sunday beef roast at Scruffy Murphy's is a hearty serving, perfect for sharing. While the beef was served at room temperature, the mashed potatoes were hot and the overall taste was good. It's a substantial meal, though perhaps not extraordinary, but satisfying nonetheless.
My Top 5 Irish Pubs in Bangkok: It's an authentic ☘️ Irish pub with live music several days a week that broadcasts major sporting events on HD screens. There is indoor and outdoor seating and a pool table upstairs. It is the successor to the popular Victoria Pub. Scruffy's serves Western and Thai dishes. I like their Larb Moo Tod. I personally like the small outdoor patio.
Located in the vibrant district of Phra Nakhon, Tai Soon Bar offers a unique blend of a Chinese Cyberpunk hipster vibe with tasteful music grooves. The craft beers are exceptional, fresh, and full of unique flavors, with standout options like the Matcha Honey Lime Sour. The bar not only provides a great selection of beers but also serves a variety of dishes to complement your drinks. It's a welcoming spot for anyone looking to relax and enjoy a calm, cozy atmosphere in Bangkok.
The outdoor area of 24 BLVD is a standout feature, especially when lit up in the evening. It provides a comfortable and inviting space to unwind and soak in the city vibe. The transformation of this venue from its previous state is impressive, offering a location that is both trendy and conveniently situated near popular spots like BACCARAT and ClubGot, making it a great choice for a night out in Khlong Toei.
Sunday night at Foojohn Jazz Club was a memorable experience. Though the drinks were a bit pricey, the superb music and sound system more than made up for it. The live jazz band and the outstanding American singer captivated the audience. I highly recommend visiting between Wednesday and Sunday for an exceptional night of jazz and delectable food, especially the appetizers and garlic soup.
Visited Raze Arcade for the first time and instantly fell in love with the place. Located conveniently in the heart of Bangkok, it's easily accessible via BTS. The prices are reasonable, and the service is commendable, making it a spot worth visiting.

Having visited Mulligans numerous times, I can vouch for its entertaining atmosphere with live bands in the evenings. The food is amazing, featuring a mix of Thai and Western cuisines, though a dessert menu would be a great addition. The service is top-notch, with attentive staff who enhance the dining experience. Celebrating my husband's birthday here was memorable, thanks to the live music and warm wishes from the band.

Raynue Cafe is a fantastic hidden gem that offers a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The design is thoughtful, with various seating options and most seats equipped with power outlets, making it perfect for working on your laptop. I've enjoyed their matcha and hot chocolate, both made with delightful Pridi chocolate. The staff are incredibly polite and welcoming, enhancing the overall experience. I can't wait to return and try their food offerings.
5 Best New Cocktail Bars in Bangkok 2024: I like the very spacious open design of a Garden of Eden with a view of Phloen Chit Road and the Skytrain. There is pretty much everything from reasonably cheap international beers like Stella Artois to mid-priced craft beers and good wines and prosecco to, of course, expensive champagnes that you can enjoy at the very large champagne bar.
Green Room Bangkok is an absolute gem for live music lovers. Nestled in the heart of Sukhumvit on Soi 7/1 alley, this bar offers a fantastic atmosphere with talented bands playing every night. My 5 favorite live music bars in Bangkok: Small but mighty! Green Room in Bangkok's Sukhumvit Soi 7/1 also offers a stage for lesser-known artists. Although it is located in the middle of a red light district, I really like the atmosphere! The music is mainly rock and blues.
Stepping into "Find the Photo Booth" feels like uncovering a secret treasure in Bangkok's nightlife. The staff is warm and attentive, ensuring that your night is memorable. The cocktail menu, creatively inspired by music, offers delightful surprises like the Grasshopper, bursting with flavor. Although the decor is nice, the real charm lies in the live music performances, providing a perfect backdrop for a chill night out with friends.
The Clubhouse is my go-to spot for watching AFL in Bangkok, despite its slightly inconvenient location. The happy hour extends until 7 pm, and the food and service are top-notch. With numerous TVs showing a variety of sports, this place is ideal for any sports fan looking for a lively atmosphere. Highly recommended for its great value and friendly vibe.
My Top 5 Sports Bars in Bangkok's Lower Sukhumvit Area: It is a relatively large bar with space for plenty of people, even when there are special sporting events. The prices are average but the food is above average. The staff is friendly. I really like the outdoor terrace. You can also watch sports on many screens there.
Widdershins is a hidden gem in Bangkok's Chinatown, offering a unique speakeasy experience. Tucked away behind a bookshelf door on the third floor of a restaurant, this small bar charms visitors with its excellent craft cocktails and friendly staff. While the service can be a tad slow, the delicious watermelon and white chocolate gin cocktail more than makes up for it. The intimate setting might not suit large groups, but the cozy atmosphere and nice music are perfect for a memorable night out.
