My 5 favorite live music bars in Bangkok: Of all the bars on the list, this is probably the smallest but also the most authentic live music bar in Bangkok for me. Despite the proximity, just a 10-minute walk from the tourist party mile Khao San Road, I like the chilled, alternative atmosphere here as well as the music. The owners are well-known in the art scene and have created a little gem here. Address: 13 SamSen Rd, Phra Nakhon.

There is indoor and outdoor seating and a pool table upstairs. It is the successor to the popular Victoria Pub. Scruffy's serves Western and Thai dishes. I like their Larb Moo Tod. I personally like the small outdoor patio.

While the food was just average and the service a bit slow, it didn't detract much from the overall experience. With only three staff members, the service was still acceptable, and I left feeling satisfied.
