Most vendors are very friendly. Except 1, Grill the Sea. The young woman charged me 50 baht more for 1 grilled octopus than the listed price on the big menu. I pointed to the price and said you listed for 120. Why was it 170? She rudely said you pay first and rubbing finger gesture with thumb, index and middle fingers. You pay 170. I knew exactly why. I paid 170 baht and told her in Thai that Thai people are very friendly, but I am not Chinese.

The market has improved significantly since its early days as a temporary setup. Now with fixed constructions, the stalls offer a wider selection and better quality food. While it may not be as extensive as Jodd Fairs, it’s definitely worth a visit. The pork stew is a must-try, and the Roti pancakes, especially the one with durian, are delicious.
