Baan Rim Naam Songwat

This is more of a chill hangout than a formal restaurant, and that’s kind of the point. The deck by the river is the real draw, with floor seating and a sunset view if you get there at the right time. If you don’t land the front row, you may spend part of the evening watching everyone else pose for photos, which is its own kind of entertainment.

Baan Rim Naam feels like one of those easygoing spots you stumble into and end up staying longer than planned. The Thai food was genuinely satisfying, especially the tom yam and grilled dishes, and the Miang Kham was a nice bonus. The staff were friendly, the weekend jazz added charm, and the whole canal-side setting had a laid-back, local feel.

The cocktails were really good, fresh with a light honey note and a solid kick, though I did wish the pours were a little bigger. We also ordered the tiramisu, which was tasty but still a bit icy in the middle. Even with the place buzzing, sitting by the river made everything feel calm.
